Have you ever wanted to incorporate motion into your MOC, but don’t know where to start? Does the thought of two gears meshing make your mind melt? Then this introductory crash course on motion and mechanisms is for you! I’m a mechanical engineering college student who loves motion in all forms, and I’ll be your professor in residence as we explore the basics of bringing your MOC to life. I’ve constructed everything from simple conveyor belts to complex functioning life-size arcade machines, and I’ll walk you through the foundation for each of my projects. The class consists of three components: a presentation showcasing how I’ve utilized motion to make my builds more engaging, a Q&A for any sort of question about mechanisms and machines, and an interactive demo where example contraptions will be available for hands-on learning. No need to pull an all-nighter studying, just bring an open mind and prepare to learn the basics of motion and mechanisms for your MOCs!
